Monthly Updates from Webber-Camden Neighborhood Organization

Welcome!

Dear Neighbors,

We’re excited to invite you to join us for an evening of food, fun, and fellowship at our annual meeting on November 13th! This is your chance to connect with neighbors, enjoy a free dinner catered by Wendy's House of Soul, and take part in shaping our neighborhood's future by electing new board members.

You’ll also be among the first to watch the premiere of our new Webber-Camden video, highlighting the incredible residents and businesses that make our community thrive. And as an added bonus, North Market will be offering some great specials that day!

If you’re passionate about making a difference, consider applying for the Board of Directors. Serving on the board is a great way to advocate for community needs and make a meaningful impact. If you're ready to step up, we'd love to hear from you!

We look forward to seeing you at North Market on November 13th at 6:30 PM. Email us at info@wcno.org for more details. Let's celebrate and strengthen our community together!

In community,

Patricia, Executive Director, Webber-Camden Neighborhood Organization

Community Spotlight:

Hmong Civic Leadership Program

We’re proud to support the Hmong Civic Leadership Program, initiated by the Hmong American Leadership Council. This nine-month initiative aims to strengthen civic engagement and leadership within the Hmong and marginalized communities of Minneapolis.

Participants will learn valuable leadership skills and work on projects that directly benefit the community. Programs like this are essential in promoting equity and empowering future civic leaders.

Congratulations, graduates—your work makes our community stronger!

Don’t Forget to Vote!

Your voice matters, and voting is one of the most impactful ways you can make a difference. In Minnesota, you can vote early in person at your local election office from September 20th to November 5th.

Remember, early voting locations will have special extended hours:

  • Saturday, October 25: 9 AM - 3 PM

  • Tuesday, October 29: Open until 7 PM

  • Saturday, November 2: 9 AM - 3 PM

  • Sunday, November 3: 9 AM - 3 PM

  • Monday, November 4: Open until 5 PM

Head to mnvotes.gov/pollfinder to find your polling place. Whether you vote early or on Election Day, your vote ensures that our community is heard.

The Northside Fall Festival was a huge success!

From Trunk or Treating to outdoor games and hot apple cider, neighbors of all ages came together to celebrate the season. Thanks to the Camden Lions for providing free food and to all who participated in the coat and winter gear giveaway in partnership with The Camden Collective. It was a day filled with fun, laughter, and community spirit, and we’re already looking forward to next year!

Check out some of the festival highlights and photos from the event!

Business Feature: Webber Mart

Kevin Aldwaik’s story is one of resilience and deep community care. After moving from East Jerusalem as a teenager, Kevin found his purpose in the heart of Webber-Camden, where his corner store, Webber Mart, is a vital resource for residents.

His commitment to cleanliness, customer service, and providing for locals, from seniors to students, reflects his genuine love for the neighborhood. Beyond the store, Kevin is a leader—serving on neighborhood boards and supporting youth through mentorship.
