April 2025 Edition

Monthly Updates from Webber-Camden Neighborhood Organization

📢 Welcome

Dear Neighbors,

Spring has arrived in Webber-Camden—and with it, the promise of new beginnings and the return of familiar traditions. The longer days and warmer weather have brought renewed energy to our streets, our parks, and our people.

At WCNO, this season is all about connection. Whether we’re gathering for resources at the Renters Rights Fair, cheering each other on at the Kickball Tournament, or coming together to celebrate youth and families at the May Pop Out—each moment is a chance to strengthen the bonds that make our neighborhood vibrant.

These events aren’t just activities on a calendar—they’re a reflection of who we are. A community that shows up, shares knowledge, uplifts our young people, and creates space for joy.

Thank you for being part of this movement. I hope to see you out there—lending your voice, bringing a neighbor, and continuing to help Webber-Camden grow stronger, together.

With gratitude,

Patricia Deinhart-Bauknight

Executive Director, WCNO

🏡 Renters Rights Fair:

April 26 at North Market

We believe that access to housing is a right—not a privilege—and that knowledge is one of our greatest tools. That’s why WCNO’s Housing Committee is hosting a Renters Rights Fair this month, offering space to learn, ask questions, and connect with organizations who are ready to help.

📅 Saturday, April 26

🕚 11:00 AM–12:30 PM

📍 North Market, 4414 Humboldt Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55412

🍽️ Free food and refreshments provided!

Whether you're navigating a lease, exploring options for affordable housing, or just looking to better understand your rights, you’re welcome here.

👟 Kickball Is Back:

Neighborhood Day – May 3

Our annual Neighborhood Day Kickball Tournament is more than a game—it’s a celebration of our community’s energy. Grab your sneakers, bring your neighbors, and join us for music, movement, and connection on the field.

📅 Saturday, May 3

🕐 1:00–3:00 PM

📍 Creekview Park, 5001 N Humboldt Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55430

All ages are welcome. Come ready to play or cheer from the sidelines. We’ll have snacks, good vibes, and prizes.

🏫 May Pop Out:

A Day of Joy at Camden High

Join us for an afternoon that puts youth opportunity front and center! The May Pop Out is more than a celebration—it’s a space for connection, creativity, and access. Families can explore summer programs, resources, and youth-centered opportunities while enjoying live performances, food, games, and community vibes.

This event is proudly sponsored by Camden High School and Minneapolis Public Schools, in collaboration with WCNO, bringing our neighborhood together to uplift and support the next generation.

🗓️ Details coming soon!

📍 Camden High School, 4320 N Newton Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55412

Bring the whole family, meet neighbors, and soak up the joy of the season.

💛 Business Spotlight:

Minnesota Hope Dealerz

This month, we’re proud to highlight Minnesota Hope Dealerz, a powerful recovery community organization rooted in healing, advocacy, and empowerment. Founded in 2019, this Northside-based nonprofit is more than a support network—it’s a movement that uplifts individuals impacted by addiction, homelessness, and systemic barriers to recovery.

Through peer support, outreach, education, and sober social events, Minnesota Hope Dealerz meets people where they are—offering encouragement, practical resources, and a genuine path toward long-term recovery. Whether it's providing rides to treatment, hosting speaker jams, or helping someone secure safe housing, their mission is clear: turn lived experience into leadership, and pain into purpose.

They believe recovery is not one-size-fits-all and work across multiple pathways to ensure individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered. With a growing national reach and deep community roots, their work proves what’s possible when compassion meets action.

Minnesota Hope Dealerz is helping change the narrative and redefine recovery across North Minneapolis and beyond.
