Monthly Updates from Webber-Camden Neighborhood Organization

Hello, neighbors!

Summertime has officially arrived. It’s a time for relaxing with friends and family, enjoying cookouts and fun times at the neighborhood pool. It’s also when our summer youth programs are in full swing. These programs offer our younger residents a chance to engage in enriching activities, learn new skills and build friendships that will last a lifetime.

There’s a few other summertime activities to mark on your calendars.

The neighborhood barbecue is on July 20. This annual event is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate the spirit of our community. We can’t wait to see you all there, sharing in the joy and fellowship that makes Webber Camden so special.

We’re also excited to announce the return of the Tour De Camden on July 20. Dust off your bikes, put on your helmets, and join us for a leisurely ride through the neighborhood. It’s a wonderful way to meet neighbors and enjoy some fresh air and exercise.

In addition, please be aware that a film crew will be in our neighborhood on July 19 and 20 to capture some videos highlighting the positive things happening here, especially our local businesses.

As you can see, we have a busy summer lined up and we will be sharing more information about these and other events on our website, Facebook and Instagram. We welcome your feedback and ideas.

Lastly, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff, board members, adult volunteers, and youth volunteers. We will be featuring them in future issues. Your hard work and commitment are what make our neighborhood feel like a family.

Enjoy the summer, everyone!

Organization Feature:

Camden Collective

We are thrilled to feature The Camden Collective, a remarkable organization that has made a profound impact on our community since its inception.

The Camden Collective was created in 2020 to support Northside youth with distance learning during the pandemic. They quickly expanded to include food distribution and youth employment programs, addressing critical needs in our neighborhood.

Their impact is significant: free tutoring helps children's educational growth, food programs ensure families have nutritious meals, and youth employment provides valuable work experience.

With bilingual programming in Spanish and English, Camden Collective fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment. This organization not only meets immediate needs but also builds lasting relationships, embodying the spirit of Webber-Camden.

Nominate a deserving Webber-Camden organization/business to be featured in our Monthly Newsletter.
