Camden is a community in Minneapolis, covering the upper half of the north side. Its boundaries are 53rd Avenue North to the north, the Mississippi River to the east, Lowry Avenue North to the south, and Xerxes Avenue North to the west.  The community is composed of seven smaller neighborhoods.

 

Minnesota Compass, a program of Wilder Research, in 2017-2021 data shows a population of 31,298 in the Camden community in Minneapolis, which is all neighborhoods north of Lowry Avenue in the upper northwest corner of the city.

 

There is increasing racial diversity in Camden illustrated by 61% of residents are people of color.  Of this population, 32% are Black or African American, 14% Asian or Pacific Islander alone, 11% Hispanic or Latino (of any race), 5% two or more races alone and 1% American Indian or Alaskan Native alone. Income data shows approximately 38.5% of Camden households earning over $75,000 and 26% with incomes under $35,000. 33% have some college or associate degree and 27% have a bachelor’s degree or higher.  27% of the population is under 17.
